Happy Days

Today is another wonderful day! The weather is perfect (it's raining- and I simply love it!) and I have the company of a talkative, purring cat on my desk. Everyday is just so much more beautiful now that I've chosen to live life with fierce optimism! Yay for me!

Focusing on the things I'm grateful for makes me a happier person. It helps that I have been keeping a list of "Things I'm Thankful For" in my notebook so that I can literally count my blessings everyday. I'm not saying that having this list will help everyone, but it's definitely worth a try!

Lovely Room's 100th Post!

I've forgotten about Lovely Room's first blog anniversary in April (:p) so I thought I'd celebrate its 100th post instead.

Lovely Room has existed for 474 days today.
I write an average of one post every 4-5 days.
This blog was ignored for 4 months when my 5 kitties were born last June.

Good Manners Are Never Passé

I'm reading, among other etiquette-related books, Manners by Kate Spade. Elegantly illustrated with short, digestible notes on everyday things from eating to communicating, it's quite a pleasant read.

Pleasurable Read

Having read and enjoyed SARK's "Succulent Wild Women" a few years back, I was delighted to have found the book "Eat Mangoes Naked" while researching some stuffs at the library. The book tells you how to find pleasure everywhere, including in difficult situations.

What's my little pleasure? Right now, sipping hot chocolate on a cold rainy day. Lovely. :)

I've only started giving my dad flowers regularly a few years ago.

But the bugs and weeds that live at the graveyard do not know how to appreciate their beauty.
